SPECTRA is a table-top experimental search for dark-photon dark matter developed in collaboration with AMO groups at Westlake. The experiment uses a calibrated dielectric haloscope to convert dark-photon dark matter into faint optical photons, which are imaged with a pixelated few-photon-sensitive readout. By combining conversion enhancement, in-situ response calibration, and template-based inference of the dark-matter signal, SPECTRA searches for excesses above measured backgrounds. Complementary to tonne scale underground detectors and astrophysical probes, this compact platform is designed to extend the experimental reach for light dark matter in new parameter space.Future upgrades based on superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) will further improve photon sensitivity and enable searches for even weaker dark photon signals.
